Hello, welcome to my blog that I've created with the intention of writing down various pieces of content, whenever I feel like it. There's always something neat worth sharing or talking about in the world of open source/tech and until now I have been using different social media platforms to express my opinions. The problem with using social media is that in many cases, character limits are a thing. Take Mastodon for instance which has a pretty generous character limit at 500 characters and is enough for nice paragraph but too limited for something more in depth.
On Diaspora this isn't really an issue since as far as I can tell there isn't a character limit. Technically I could just write my opinion pieces and share everything there (which I sometimes do) although that always makes me feel as if something isn't quite right. After some thinking I decided what I need is a dedicated space to write, somewhere central to call home. So now I have Lazy Tux, a blog where content is primarily focused on Linux/FOSS software and somewhere specific where I can archive my thoughts. One thing that I find myself constantly wanting to do is write in-depth about the cool software I find, or write a tutorial about a piece of software I use often. With that said, I am looking forward to having fun with this blog and sharing stuff with all of you.
So that's about it, I now have a blog that I can use to share whatever it is I feel like sharing. Let's hope someone else enjoys reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
Cheers for now!
